Mental & Low-Physical Games

Ideal for mixed-fitness groups, indoor venues, or teams who'd prefer to keep the running to a minimum.

  • TRU Group Juggling

    moderate · 15–20 min

Teams establish a throwing pattern passing objects around the group, then progressively add more objects until everyone is juggling multiple items at once.

Builds group rhythm, focus, and the ability to manage multiple priorities — a great metaphor for workplace dynamics.

  • TRU Grid Game

    low · 20–30 min

Teams discover a hidden safe path across an invisible grid through trial, error, and memory — only one person crosses at a time while the team tracks progress.

Builds patience, memory, strategic thinking, and the value of learning from mistakes as a team.

  • PB&J Team Building

    low · 15–20 min

One team writes step-by-step instructions for making a sandwich; another team follows those instructions literally — exposing every hidden assumption in the writing.

Powerfully demonstrates how assumptions affect communication, with a lot of laughs along the way.

  • Couch Game

    low · 15–20 min

Two teams sit interleaved with one empty seat. Each team tries to get all their members onto the 'couch' by swapping positions strategically.

Tests lateral thinking, patience, and coordinated strategy under a fun, competitive format.

  • Deserted Island

    low · 20–30 min

Teams collectively agree on which items to take to a deserted island, defending each choice to the group within a time limit.

Sparks lively discussion, negotiation, and reveals how teams make collective decisions under pressure.

  • Emotions & Storytelling

    low · 20–30 min

Participants draw emotion cards and share a brief story that captures that emotion, with the group reflecting on what resonated.

Builds emotional intelligence, empathy, and psychological safety within the team.

  • Helium Stick

    low · 10–15 min

The group holds a lightweight stick on their index fingers and must lower it slowly to the ground together — the stick seems to rise rather than fall.

Highlights the importance of listening, slowing down, and syncing as a group through a deceptively simple challenge.

  • Don't Touch Me

    moderate · 20–30 min

Teams navigate through a web of rope or string without touching any of the strands — each 'window' in the web can only be used once.

Demands careful planning, communication, and trust as teams work out how to get everyone through safely.

  • Minute Mysteries

    low · 15–20 min

The facilitator reads a cryptic scenario and teams solve the mystery by asking yes/no questions only.

Sharpens lateral thinking, questioning skills, and collaborative reasoning in a low-energy, seated format.

  • Around the World

    low · 20–30 min

A fast-paced knowledge relay where teams answer trivia questions tied to different countries or categories, racing to 'travel around the world' first.

Light competitive energy and quick thinking — a great leveller across seniority and job roles.

  • Supermarket

    low · 10–15 min

Starting with one item, each participant adds to a growing shopping list and must repeat all previous items in order — eliminated if they forget one.

Tests memory and concentration while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and fun.

  • Picture Telephone

    low · 15–20 min

Players alternate between drawing a phrase and describing someone else's drawing as it passes down the line — then compare the hilarious final result to the original.

A laugh-out-loud twist on broken telephone that shows how meaning shifts as it travels through a team.

  • Mind Teasers / Rebus Puzzles

    low · 15–25 min

Teams race to decode visual word puzzles — for example, a '0' above 'M.D., Ph.D., LL.B.' reads as 'three degrees below zero'.

Sparks lateral thinking and playful debate — perfect for mixed groups, seated, with zero physical demand.

  • Build It Blind

    low · 25–30 min

One team member views a hidden structure for 15 seconds, then describes it to their team, who must replicate it from building blocks — without ever seeing the original.

Sharpens clear description, active listening, and working from incomplete information.

  • Build a Bridge

    low · 25–35 min

Teams construct a bridge from everyday materials (sticks, string, tape, paper) that must span a gap and hold a small weight.

Blends creativity, engineering thinking, and hands-on collaboration — no fitness required.

  • Minute to Win It Stations

    low · 30–45 min

Highlights the importance of clear communication, with plenty of comic relief.

    low · 15–25 min

Teams act out words or phrases without speaking while their team guesses.

Encourages creativity and confident self-expression in front of others.
